COVID-19: New Restrictions
We are really happy to confirm that we will be back open from Monday 17th May for both overnight stays and food and drink.
You can book with confidence knowing that we offer free cancellations on all fully-flex rates up until 10:00am on the day prior to arrival should things change.
**During the closure period we will remain open for guests travelling for work purposes, but please note our kitchen, restaurant and bar will be closed.**

The safety of our guests and team members is our number one priority so we have put in many measures across our properties to ensure our guests can feel confident when visiting and staying in our properties and our team members can feel confident working in them too.

COVID-19: Government Changes to VAT in Hospitality
We can confirm that the rate at which you booked your guestroom still stands and we would like to explain the reason for this.
The reduction in VAT is a great initiative which has been introduced to help hospitality businesses during these challenging times as per the guidance released from the Government. The full announcement can be seen here and below is a summary of the key messages:
“The government made an announcement on 8 July 2020 allowing VAT registered businesses to apply a temporary 5% reduced rate of VAT to certain supplies relating to:
- Hotel and holiday accommodation
- Admissions to certain attractions
The temporary reduced rate will apply to supplies that are made between 15 July 2020 and 12 January 2021.
These changes are being brought in as an urgent response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to support businesses severely affected by forced closures and social distancing measures.”
After sadly being closed for three months and the increased costs we need to absorb in line with government guidance, our business has been severely affected by the pandemic. This initiative is a huge support to our business and the hospitality sector as a whole and it also enables us to bring more of our valued team members back off furlough.

Can we upgrade rooms?
Whilst we don’t offer room upgraded we have several room types available; double, small double, twin, single, family and accessible rooms. We also offer upsells to your stay, such as champagne or prosecco on arrival, or a dinner inclusive room rate.
Do you hold rooms provisionally?
No we take a credit card to guarantee reservations, after which our cancellation policy then applies.

1:00 pm checkout is available for an extra £10, but this is subject to availability. Enquire directly with a member of staff.
Are there special rates for corporate bookings?
Corporate rates are available on request.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and all public areas.
What is offered in the guest rooms?
Tea and coffee making facilities, en-suite bathroom with bath and/or shower, complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, air conditioning and digital TV.
Do you have a room with a bath?
We have rooms with baths; please contact us directly to specifically request one.
Do you have travel cots/Z beds available? Do you charge for it?
Travel cots are available at no extra charge, but we recommend calling in advance to make sure that we have one free for your stay. Z-beds are not available.
Is there disabled access?
We have full disabled access to the bar, restaurant and lift access to all bedrooms. We also offer two accessible bedrooms.

Our full hot and continental breakfast is served from:
7:00 am - 10:00 am Monday – Friday
8:00 am - 10:00 am Saturday & Sunday
Do you provide a dinner inclusive rate?
Yes, enquire with a member of staff for rates and terms & conditions.
What are the bar’s opening times?
The bar opens from 11:00 am - 11:00 pm Monday – Sunday.
Are dogs allowed in the bar?
We love to welcome well-behaved owners and their dogs to the inn, but please be aware that not everyone loves your dog as much as you do. To help us keep happy customers of both the two and four-legged varieties please observe our
- Dogs are allowed in the bar area, but not in the dining only areas.
- Please don’t let your dog jump or pester other guests or their pets, or disturb others by barking.
- Make sure your dog is clean and dry before they come in to the inn.
Do you have a car park?
As with most cities, parking is at a premium, but we do have three spaces at the rear of the hotel which can be reserved in advance at £5 per night, subject to availability. Or you can park at the Auction Mart car park (postcode LX1 1XU), located on Thurnham Street (follow the one-way system, which is just across the junction from the inn) Prices below:

Up to 3 hours - £2.50
Up to 10 hours - £8.00
Up to 24 hours - £9.00
Is private dining available?
Yes - we can offer private dining for celebrations and events. Please enquire with a member of staff.
What facilities are provided for wedding guests?
We can accommodate small and informal wedding meals. Please ask to speak to a manager to discuss any requirements.
What is your cancellation policy?
As long as you cancel your booking before 10am on the day before you’re due to arrive, there will be no charge. Bookings cancelled after 10:00am on the day before you’re due to arrive will be charged for the first night’s stay. No Shows will be charged for the first night’s stay.
